This page explains how to delete your Cross Word account and the data associated with it. Cross Word: Bible Crossword is published on Google Play by PiousPithGames (The Pious Pith LLC).
Delete It Yourself, in the App
Open the game and go to Settings › Account › Delete Account, then confirm twice. The deletion happens right away. If your connection drops partway through, the app tells you what was finished; press Delete Account again and it completes the rest.
Or Delete It on the Web
If you no longer have the app, sign in with the Google account you played with:
Google only confirms which game account is yours. We never see your password, and we do not keep your email address. Your request is recorded straight away, and we delete your account and its data within 30 days. The page gives you a short reference; if you would like a confirmation, email us with it.
If Cross Word is open on another device when your account is deleted, close it there. Anything it saves afterwards is removed in our final check before we confirm.
Lost Access to Your Google Account?
Email us at PiousPithGames@gmail.com with the subject line “Delete my Cross Word account”. Your game account is tied to your Google account, so we cannot confirm that an account is yours from an email alone, and we will not delete an account we cannot confirm. We will reply within 7 days and explain what we can do. If you get back into your Google account later, the web link above works at any time.
What Gets Deleted
- Your player account and its identifier
- Saved game progress — puzzles completed, stars, streaks and unlocked content
- Your Bible notes and studies
- Gem and Sacred Heart balances, and their transaction history
- Device records and in-game messages kept on our server
- Your invite code and any record of who invited you
- Everything saved for you by Unity Gaming Services on our behalf
What We Keep, and Why
We keep three kinds of records after a deletion. They are no longer attached to a playable account, but they are not anonymous: Google’s own order records could link a purchase back to the buyer.
- Purchase records — for each completed purchase: Google’s order number, the purchase token, the item, the date and what it gave you, plus any refund record for it. Why: so the same purchase can never be credited twice, so refunds are recognised, and for accounting. Deleted automatically 7 years after your account is deleted.
- A deletion record — your former player identifier with the date of the deletion. Why: so a deleted account can never be written to again, from any device. Deleted automatically 7 years after the deletion.
- Support adjustment records — only if our support team ever corrected your balance: the account identifier, the amounts, who made the change and why. Why: an audit trail of support actions. Deleted automatically 7 years after the adjustment.
These records are not used for anything else.
Before You Delete
- Deletion is permanent. Progress, notes and gems or hearts (including purchased ones) cannot be restored afterwards, on this or any device.
- Remove Ads stays with your Google Play account. If you delete your account and later start a new one on the same Google Play account, Remove Ads comes back on its own. If it doesn't, tap Restore Purchases in Settings.
- Deletion does not refund purchases. Refunds are handled by Google Play. If you want one, request it through Google Play before deleting.
- Uninstalling the app does not delete your account. It only removes the copy on your device; your saved progress stays until you delete the account.
Deleting Local Data Only
To clear only the data on your device and keep your account, open Android Settings › Apps › Cross Word › Storage and choose Clear storage. Your saved progress will still be there when you sign in again.
