1. Agreement
These Terms govern your use of Cross Word: Bible Crossword (“the app”), published on Google Play by PiousPithGames (“we”, “us”). By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Your use of the app is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.
2. Who May Use the App
Cross Word is intended for users aged 13 and over. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the app only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
3. Your Account
The app creates a player account so your progress can be saved and restored. You are responsible for the Google account used to sign in. You may request deletion of your account and data at any time — see Delete Your Account and Data.
4. In-App Purchases and Virtual Items
The app offers optional purchases, including gem packs, Sacred Heart packs and an ad-removal item. All payments are processed by Google Play; we never receive your payment details.
Virtual items are a limited licence, not property. Gems, Sacred Hearts and other in-game items have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be transferred or sold outside the app. They are licensed to you for use within the app only.
Refunds are handled by Google Play under its refund policy. We do not process payments and therefore cannot issue refunds directly, though we will help where we can if something has gone wrong with a purchase.
If a purchase fails to deliver what you paid for, contact us and we will investigate and put it right.
5. Advertising
The app includes advertising. Purchasing the ad-removal item stops advertisements being shown. Advertising is described further in our Privacy Policy.
6. Content and Scripture
Scripture quotations in the app are from the King James Version, which is in the public domain. Puzzle content, clues, devotional and study material are our own work or are used with permission.
You may use the app's content for personal, non-commercial study and enjoyment. You may not copy, extract, redistribute or republish the app's puzzles, clues or study content, in bulk or systematically, without our written permission.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Modify, reverse-engineer or tamper with the app, except where that right cannot lawfully be restricted
- Use cheats, automation or exploits to obtain currency or progress you did not earn or purchase
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our services or other players' accounts
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose
We may suspend or terminate access to accounts used in these ways.
8. Service Availability and Changes
We aim to keep the app working and its content updated, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Features and content may change, and online services supporting the app may be modified or discontinued.
If we discontinue an online service in a way that materially affects purchased items, we will give reasonable notice where we are able to.
9. Disclaimers
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
The app's devotional and study content is provided for personal enrichment. It is not, and is not a substitute for, pastoral, professional, medical, legal or financial advice.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us through in-app purchases in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. Changes take effect when posted here, and the “Last Updated” date will change. Material changes will also be noted in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. This does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-law rights in your country of residence.
